Behind the scenes of my illustrations: from idea to poster
Share
An illustration is an idea that germinates, then tests, sketches, lines, color... But then, how did these initial ideas come to me?
You may have noticed that in my logo there is a blue butterfly; this represents the butterfly effect : small actions, changes can have a huge impact. (for gamers, this may remind you of the series Life is Strange , or even Detroit Become Human !)
The butterfly effect is symbolic for me, both in my creation and in my life, and I find it fascinating to wonder what tiny decisions could have had such an impact on my choices. And if I talk to you about this, it is of course linked to my illustrations; each of them is born from an emotion resulting from a choice, a decision. My posters carry memories, things that I have experienced; they have a story, an anecdote.
✨ 1. It all starts… with a journey
My illustrations often take root in my walks, my travels, memories shared with my loved ones.
I remember a trip to Nice in 2019 - I was very sensitive to the colors of the city during the golden hour . The sparkling sea, the golden sky... I had a strong desire to convey all of this and represent it as I feel it. This idea germinated, stayed with me, and today, I share it with you.
For my city collection, I represent the places that mark me, that I remember; for example, the fresco of the Saint-Pierre bridge in Toulouse , where we had many picnics, discussions and sharing with my friends. My background in architecture has also made me aware of the buildings and monuments that surround us; hence the representation of the Hassan II mosque in Casablanca , or the famous hotel in Annaba.
🖌️ 2. Ideas become sketches
Once back in my studio , I begin to translate this memory into drawing .
I use my iPad and Procreate to make the first sketches. I even wrote a short article about my favorite tools and my process ! This is when I look for THE composition that will echo what I felt on site .
I also draw inspiration from the photos I've taken , while thinking about the vibrant colors that will be highlighted. My line is also one of my strong points; I prefer to highlight it rather than using flat colors.
🎨 3. The magic of colors
Colors are the heart of my universe .
I spend a lot of time choosing my tones: I want it to be both soft, while being sunny and vibrant.
I like to mix warm and bright shades, bold contrasts , to create a particular atmosphere.
My palette is sunny and joyful; I like well-saturated colors - I want each illustration to brighten up your home.
🖼️ 4. From screen to paper

Once the illustration is finalized, I carefully prepare it for printing .
I choose to work with thick , matte paper of good quality .
Each print is then lovingly hand - packed , ready to go to its new home . 🫶
Behind every illustration hides a story .
A walk, a light, an emotion… that I try to bring to life through my drawings.
And if you hang one of my posters in your home, then somewhere , a little piece of this journey continues. 🧡
